Roy Hanif

Roy Hanif, MA, DipM, Chairman, CEO and Investor Relations

Roy Hanif joined Carbon Credentials shortly after the founders to commercialise the delivery programmes and raise the bar for the energy reform vision, focusing on big business. Prior to this Roy has established a 30 years reputation as a successful start-up entrepreneur and board level management consultant to Tier-1 organisations and government. He has set up and run the services businesses of Ingres Software, Siemens, Oracle EMEA and Cisco EMEA.

Roy established new operations throughout Cisco EMEA in over 30 countries and increased revenues from $30 million to over $500 million.

Roy has also set up and run a number of successful start-ups, the most prominent being NC International Limited, where he set up UK’s first e-commerce trading and banking company under a joint venture with Barclays Merchant Bank and Beneficial Bank. The award-winning company grew to lead the market. Roy successfully exited the business through a trade sale.

Roy has worked with New-tech Energy Companies, focused on reducing global carbon emissions. These include: Trilliant Networks (Grid and AMR management), Cinculus (AMR management), the Aspen Institute, BiD Network, TED, the Shell Foundation and the Carbon Trust.

He has also worked at board level with Vodafone group, Verizon Wireless, Telenor Group, Mitsubishi Electric, Peoplesoft, Adecco, Ardent Software (KM & ETL), Energy Solutions/Magnox, Environment Agency, DEFRA, Homeland Security Office, Security Services and Central Government Procurement Services OGC Buying Solutions.

He is a Certified Senior Advisor to Central Government and Defence. He is married with children and lives in Surrey, UK.


Roger Bishton

Roger Bishton, LLB ACA, CFO and Chief Operating Officer

Prior to founding Carbon Credentials, Roger’s previous achievements include five years as Finance Director of GL Trade Limited, the UK arm of a French electronic trading software company (now SunGard Global Trading). Roger was a key part of the executive team that managed 7-fold growth in the UK, critical to group growth from €33m to €150m over the period. He was instrumental in acquisition assessment and integration as well as the conclusion of key client negotiations. Roger also introduced extensive internal control structures as well as strict budget and working capital management to ensure maximum investor returns. Before joining the private sector, Roger worked at KPMG for ten years, running audits of international companies in office equipment, telecoms and banking sectors and leading due diligence in cross border acquisitions and disposals. He spent two years in Paris on such projects then returned to London to audit AIM-listed companies and lead financial due diligence investigations for clients in the internet and publishing businesses.

Roger brings to Carbon Credentials a sound financial platform and a strong commercial bias. He is very hands-on, yet has a long-term vision. Roger has an LLB from the University of East Anglia and is a Chartered Accountant, gaining his professional qualification with KPMG. Roger is married with two children and lives in London, UK.


Cian Duggan

Cian Duggan, BEng, CTO and Global Energy Partners

Cian is Technical Director and founder of Carbon Credentials. With his passion for energy efficiency and renewable energy, he is customer focused and responsible for ensuring technical solutions are practical and commercially viable. He started his career in software training, principally with Microsoft, then with Aldiscon, the world leaders in SMS software, before becoming Managing Director of Cyrona Software, an internet and e-commerce software solutions provider. Moving to Scotland, he became professionally interested in energy conservation, splitting his time between his two companies: Enervation, a company geared to reducing companies’ expenditure on telecommunications and utilities and property developers, the Beith Group. Prior to founding Carbon Credentials Cian lived in Valencia, Spain, where as Managing Director of Beith, he sourced and rehabilitated traditional houses, with a particular focus on utilising low carbon/green methodologies.

Cian has a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ireland, UCD, is married with two children and lives in Surrey, UK.
